One Useful Thing is a weekly newsletter of well-designed and helpful things.
Share One Useful Thing with your friends who binge watch everything.
Them: “Are you watching Succession? It’s sooo good! And the new one with the guy from that movie? So funny!”
Me: “Ummm…what?”
There are so many shows on so many streaming services it’s impossible to keep track of them all. Who has the time?
Well, my fellow overwhelmed friend, it’s time to let technology do that for you.
Reelgood is a free service that will keep track of your favorite shows on your favorite streaming services and notify you when new episode are available.
Once you sign up you’ll be able to select the services you use, without any account info or login.
Here I’ve added mine: Netflix, HBO, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video.
Then click the big green ‘Next’ button at the bottom of the page. You’ll go to your custom Reelgood home page where you’ll see all of the shows on your services. Your services (or filters) are at the top. That’s nice. But it gets better.
Click ‘TV Shows’ or ‘Movies’ and Reelgood will show you what’s new and what’s trending on your services. You can even browse new shows on individual services, like Netflix. But wait, there’s more!
Reelgood will send you alerts for new episodes of your favorite shows and shows you want to watch but haven’t started yet.
Here I’ve started tracking the new Netflix series Living with Yourself, starring Paul Rudd. (He’s that guy from that movie, apparently.)
Reelgood will put the next episodes right there in the que of your home page, where you can watch them. (That part will require logging in with your service’s password.)
To be clear: Reelgood is not a streaming service. Clicking ‘Play’ will send you to your services website to watch the show.
I’ve only just touched on the features Reelgood offers. There’s so much more, including listings of 2,000+ free streaming services.
